Guests and Members testimonials of Slow Food Cornwall World of
Taste Fundraising Dinner
Paul Drye - Catering Development Manager - St Austell Brewery (and
Cornwall Slow Food member)
"... this event gave our chefs a great opportunity to show what they're
made of - but a chef can only do this when given the best of ingredients
and on the day we were spoilt for choice; from the superb air-dried
Herdwick Mutton to the Cornish salt-pilchards, and from the characterful
Grana Padano cheese to the succulent Gurnard smothered in wild garlic
butter - we were truly in "Chef's Heaven"!! It was undoubtedly hard work
but as lovers of good food we wouldn't have missed it for the world."
Louise and Phil Boddington, Boddingtons Berries
"We had an absolutely brilliant time – the evening was amazing – such a
wonderful diversity of food, a real education as well as a culinary
delight. Beautifully prepared and presented, my favourite sadly was the
sweet – such a lovely change not to have strawberries in a bowl with
cream!"
Gill Jenkins and Kim Roscoe, Bedknobs, award winning bed and
breakfast in Bodmin and Cornwall Slow Food members
"Eden was an ideal choice of venue for Slow Food - the sustainable ethos
of both in perfect harmony. We had a great time - and a great meal...
the gurnard was divine - so too was the air-dried mutton - and the
cheese and ..... well, everything!"
Cornwall Slow Food Member and former MP Paul Tyler (now Lord Tyler of
Linkinhorne)
"All those who made the evening possible deserve our warmest thanks for
a delicious dinner, from the best of Cornish ingredients and with the
best of Cornish company. What better way to enjoy our distinctive local
tradition of unhurried hospitality - the essence of the Slow Food
movement - and to celebrate (in our case) the arrival of our first
grandchild!"
