Godolphin Autumn Festival of Food
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2006
Godolphin House, near Helston, is gearing up for its
second Autumn Festival of Food with excellent quality food to try, buy
and eat (from meat and fish to cheese, vegetables, chocolate, ice cream,
organic food, cakes and patisserie, terrines, preserves and smoked food
- to name but a few!)
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Godolphin House, there will be
plenty for all ages; pony rides, games and activities for children,
animals, live music with the Generation Gap and First and Last,
excellent catering stalls, tours of the house, and ancient gardens to
stroll and relax in.
‘Doing two major food events a year has really helped to increase
awareness about how food is treated and raised. Having the opportunity
to meet producers and chat about products on offer is an interesting and
fun way to shop’, says Joanne Schofield, promoter and daughter-in-law of
the owner.
Slow Food Cornwall will have a stand at Godolphin, so please come along
and say hello to us. It is a real opportunity to meet likeminded people
and have a great day out. (….and if you would like to help spread the
Slow Food word on our stand, then please get in contact with Jan Bright
on 01209 831039).
Admission to the Food Festival: £1.50 Adult/OAP, £0.50 children. House
tours separate charge. Sorry, no dogs allowed except guide dogs. Please
call Godolphin on 01736 763194 for details. |
