Slow Food Cornwall - Ceviche/Peruvian Dinner October 18th
at The View, Whitsand Bay
Chef Matt Corner, of the View restaurant, is cooking an exciting ceviche dinner for Slow Food Cornwall. (Ceviche is a speciality of Central and South America in which raw fish is 'cooked' by the action of acid - usually lime or lemon juice).
As well as the very fresh fish and other delicious menu items, there will be a lively talk by Edward Shaw (Chairman of Barts Spices) who has visited the organic chilli plantations in the Tapora Valley south of Lima.
Barts Spices is also kindly sponsoring the event. Everyone attending will receive a special goodie bag (made from Fair Trade cotton with shoulder length strap) containing a recipe booklet plus organic spices and ingredients from Barts Delicatessen.
There's a lot on offer - organic treats, an intriguing menu from a favourite local chef....., and the chance to find out how some Peruvian producers are coping with the effects of the recent earthquake.
Tickets for this event are £30 to Slow Food members, £35 non-members – with a booking deadline of October 12th.
